Five Keys to a Strong Marriage

Pastor Joakim Lundqvist

A strong marriage isn't built by two perfect people. It’s built by two imperfect people holding on to a perfect God. No matter what patterns you inherited or what your past looked like, your future can be different. By inviting Jesus in, choosing the right priorities, staying curious, protecting intimacy, and continuing to pursue one another, you can build a marriage that grows stronger through the years.

Key Takeaways:

  • Invite Jesus into your marriage daily—He is the third strand that makes it stronger.
  • Prioritize your spouse and family instead of giving them your emotional leftovers.
  • Stay curious about your spouse—keep talking, learning, and growing together.
  • Protect intimacy by creating a marriage where you can be fully known without fear.
  • Never stop investing in and pursuing one another through every season of life.

The Big Idea: You may not be able to change the home you came from, but by the grace of God, you can change the home that comes from you.
