Miracle Catches
A miracle catch is simply an evangelistic outreach that has a focus of bringing in a large group of unbelievers to a specific event to see them won to the Lord. There are many ways to do this, but the focus must be to make an extra effort as a church to see people saved. The idea is to set a goal of salvations that would take divine intervention to see happen, and then let God work. (The disciples had a miracle catch of fish by obeying the Lord and casting their nets at His command.)
Networks can have miracle catch meetings designed for the gender or age group of the networks. There may be a special meal served or a guest speaker that will draw people with specific needs, but the goal is to see people saved. From the network meetings, we see the most lasting fruit, as far as souls being saved and consolidated.
There can also be miracle catches in the macro- cells. Each cell sets a goal of bringing a certain number of individuals to a cookout or some kind of special event set up by a leader and all the cells under him. This can be an effective tool in seeing people saved.
Sunday services can also be designated as miracle catches. An Easter Sunday could be a good time for a miracle catch, or you could select any specific Sunday that you want to challenge the church to believe for an “impossible” catch of souls.
If you have miracle catches too often, you may find your cell leaders and consolidators overworked. It takes a lot of work to follow up on individuals, so if the boat is full, get the fish to shore before setting out on another miracle catch.
