Step #3 DISCIPLE
The third step is also about forming character but through teaching and discipline. After completing the consolidation process, the new disciple enters the School of Leaders, which consists of three ten-week trimesters of study. During the second trimester, the students will open their own cells but will also continue meeting in their original cells, which now become their leadership, or G-12, groups. This step of the vision brings Christians to a new level of commitment to prepare them to serve as faithful leaders in the church.
SCHOOL OF LEADERS
"EVERY BELIEVER IS A LEADER" because "Leadership is not a position you occupy but an influence you exert."
The Bethany World Prayer Center School of Leaders is a trimester school designed to help form your character as a disciple of Christ. Classes on doctrine and seminars on gender- and age-specific issues help each believer to round out his or her spiritual life to become a "leader" (person of influence).
Our Schools of Leaders are high-energy, fast-paced learning environments through the use of Power Point presentations, drama, and lessons based upon the seven learning styles people have. They are also "more than knowledge" in that each student receives personal ministry to them in their personal needs EVERY WEEK.
Finally, they are practical because the students have outside projects of ministry to their families or other new believers. Each student also reaches certain reading and personal goals each trimester and feels himself stretching as a person! Becoming a leader means to DO IT, not just "know it."
What are the requirements to enter the School?
After a powerful Encounter Retreat weekend, you will be taken through a preparation course for the " School of Leaders " called the "Post-Encounter" class. This class helps you to assimilate the victories you gained in your Encounter and to get ready to do serious Bible study.
Is the School of Leaders a Bible School?
Yes, but a "shortened" form. It is designed for the average believer who has NO Bible knowledge but a desire to learn. Instead of the traditional two- to three-year Bible school, a believer can complete the School in only nine months!
When does the School meet?
Schools of Leaders meet at different times depending upon room availability, etc. Schools are currently meeting on Sunday evenings.
What is the cost?
We presently charge $10 per trimester. That money strictly covers the printed lessons you receive and the few related costs of multimedia presentations, etc.
What's Next?
When you complete your entire training and discipling at Bethany, you have been through five major growth stages:
The "Encounter" Retreat weekend
The "Post Encounter" (introduction to the School of Leaders )
The three trimesters of the School of Leaders
Our goal is "EVERY BELIEVER A LEADER." We know that God has a powerful plan for your life and that only through "encounter" with Him, "training" in the Word of God, and "mentoring" by another leader will you become that "person of influence" you want to be in your family, your business, and your ministry.
