God Is A Worker

Jonathan Stockstill

August 28, 2016

Isaiah 64:4 NLT: “For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!”

Romans 8:31 NLT: “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”

Philippians 2:13 NLT: “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

Mark 16:20 NLT: “And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.”

1. God is working FOR us.

Isaiah 64:4 NLT: “For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!”

2. God is working IN us.

While He is working on the outside for us, He is also working in us.

Romans 5:3–5 NLT: “3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”

  • Building ENDURANCE
  • Building CHARACTER
  • Building HOPE

God is more concerned with what happens in us, than what happens to us.

3. God is working THROUGH us.

Genesis 2:1–3 NLT: “1 So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. 2 On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.”
