| Missions History
Missions is all about giving, and Bethany has emphasized missions giving from the church's beginning. Pastor Roy Stockstill, Bethany's founder, wrote the first church check to missions. (It was $100 dollars.) Brother Roy's"give what you got" philosophy has continued to carry through, and the annual missions budget under Brother Larry Stockstill now tops $2.5 million. |
Bethany's goal is to donate 25% of the annual budget to local and international missions (totaling over $2.5 million per year). In addition to supporting 52 foreign missionaries, Bethany has partnered with Global Strategy Missions Agency (G.S.M.A.) and divided the world into twelve zones, or regions, with a lead missionary over each region. These twelve senior missionaries have a goal of discipling twelve national leaders who will in turn disciple twelve within their own nation until leaders have been discipled from all of the 2000 remaining unreached people groups of the world! This world missions vision is part of a ten-year strategy that will last until 2010, with the goal of planting churches within each unreached people group by that date. global12project.com
